The third event of the PGA Tour resumption of play heads to Cromwell, Connecticut for the popular Travelers Championship with Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau the favorites to emerge victorious.
They also happen to be be paired for the first two rounds alongside two-time champion Phil Mickelson – presenting a fun prop bet to wager on their three-ball matchup result.
With nine of the top ten players in the world teeing it up at TPC River Highlands, it presents other fun groupings to wager on and we’ve highlighted them below.
McIlroy/DeChambeau/Mickelson 3-Ball Matchup Odds
All odds taken June 24th
Bryson Playing Inspired Golf
Bryson DeChambeau has done everything but win in his last five starts, racking up top 10’s in all of them. He’s up against world #1 Rory McIlroy in this three-ball match, but Rory has been going the opposite direction in his two events back with T-41st and T-32nd results.

Phil Mickelson, who just turned 50, is far too unpredictable at this stage of his career to back on this wager.
DeChambeau has packed on 20 pounds to gain even more length off the tee and this tournament he’ll be able to ‘unleash the kraken’ as he likes to say and pound drivers.
Bryson DeChambeau’s Last Five Events
|Charles Schwab Challenge||T-3rd|
|Arnold Palmer Invitational||4th|
Dechambeau has put together back-to-back top 10’s in this event, and is second in first round scoring this season (McIlroy is third).
It’s a toss up between the two, but go with the slightly better value for a player who’s playing better at the moment.
Pick: Bryson DeChambeau (+125)
Johnson/Morikawa/Spieth 3-Ball Matchup Odds
Spieth a Good Value Bet
Jordan Spieth, the 2017 champion of this event, has been showing signs that his game might be coming back around – at least at the start of tournaments.
At the Charles Schwab challenge he opened up with a 65 and at the RBC Heritage it was a 66.
Make it 6 straight birdies for @JordanSpieth. ?
That marks the longest birdie streak of his career. ? pic.twitter.com/2WEgmNd08O

Since the wager only applies to the first round, you’re getting tremendous +225 value for a guy who’s won around this track compared to DJ, who hasn’t played here since 2014 and Collin Morikawa who has teed it up at the Travelers just once.
Spieth has been inconsistent in his final results, where his weekend scoring has been abysmal, but don’t let that deter you from believing in him, at least for one round.
Pick: Jordan Spieth (+225)
Cantlay/Casey/Lowry 3-Ball Matchup Odds
Paul Casey is a Horse for This Course
Paul Casey will be making his return to the PGA Tour in the friendly confines of TPC River Highlands, where he’s done everything but win in the last five years.
Paul Casey should be chalk @TravelersChamp.
Since 2015, Casey leads all players at @TPCRH:
Score to Par (-58)
Scoring Average (67.1)
Rounds Under Par (17)
Total Birdies or Better (92)
Rounds inside Top 10 on the leaderboard (12)
Top 5s (4 in 5 years)
SG: Total (+49.94)

Going up against Patrick Cantlay is daunting, given that he’s tops in first round scoring on tour, but he might show rust, having not played since February. Lowry has a lone appearance at the Travelers, a missed cut in 2016.
However, Casey finished runner-up to Bubba Watson in both 2015 and 2018, and has also posted a pair of T-5th’s in the last five years at this tournament. Suffice to say, this is his personal playground.
Pick: Paul Casey (+160)
Watson/Kang/Bryan 3-Ball Matchup Odds
Bubba Watson Loves This Course
Speaking of Bubba Watson and personal playgrounds, this is also a track that he absolutely loves, having won the event three times in his career.

Not only that, but the mercurial lefty also has finished second and fourth at TPC River Highlands. He’s also seventh in strokes gained putting and eight in SG: off the tee.
Sung Kang has missed the cut in his two starts since returning, and Wesley Bryan was T-68th at Harbour Town.
Though you’re not getting huge money wagering on Bubba, make the cash whenever you can make it at a place that he feels most comfortable.
Pick: Bubba Watson (-135)
