- Each of Metz’s last four matches have produced under 2.5 goals
- Four of Nice’s last six outings in all competitions have produced under 2.5 goals.
- Metz have only lost two of their eight home games in Logue 1 this season.
Tight and Tense 90-Minutes Expected at the Stade Saint-Symphorien
Metz maintained their decent home record courtesy of a goalless draw in midweek with Bordeaux. Nice suffered a 2-0 defeat away at fellow mid-table side Brest and now sit two positions and 2pts behind Metz in the Ligue 1 table.
Nice have had the better of Metz in recent seasons, securing three wins, one draw and only suffering one defeat in their last five head-to-heads with Saturday’s hosts. Both teams have scored in four of those last five league meetings, which suggests that both keepers will have their work cut out for them this weekend.
However, we’re not expecting an action-packed 90-minutes between Metz and Nice as under 2.5 goals have been produced in four of the host’s and four of the visitor’s last six outings in league and cup. The Metz defence has proven a tough nut to crack lately, with the home side keeping three clean sheets in their last four attempts. However, Nice have scored at least one goal in three of their last four fixtures and have only kept one clean sheet in their last six games.
Metz have only lost two times at home so far this season and with both teams performing to a very similar level this season, we’re backing Saturday’s clash to end all square. Neither side have looked great going forward in recent weeks, but we do expect both sides to find the back of the net and the scoreline ending 1-1.
