NHL Betting Preview and Free play: Los Angeles Kings vs. St. Louis Blues – Wednesday Feb. 24, 2021

The St. Louis Blues will host the Kings for the second game of the Western Division series. Puck drop for this game is scheduled for 9:30 pm eastern from the Enterprise Center.

This will be the fourth time these two teams have matched up against each other, most recently, this past Monday. The Kings were able to shutout the Blues and go on to win the game 4-0.

The Western Division seems to be one of the most overall competitive divisions in the NHL from top to bottom. There are only a few points separating almost every team, so games like this one have extra importance as the Blues try to keep control of second place.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview: Continue to stay hot.

The Kings may have the most momentum in all of hockey right now, winning their last five games in a row. After a disappointing start to the season, losing four of their first five and at one point going on a five game losing streak, this is exactly what Kings fans want to see.

The Kings are led by the fifteen year veteran Anze Kopitar. Through seventeen games, Kopitar is leading his team in points with twenty one on four goals and seventeen assists. Kopitar is paired with another seasoned veteran in Dustin Brown who leads the Kings in goals with ten.

The Kings are using the two goalie system this season with Calvin Petersen and Jonathan Quick each receiving multiple starts. Petersen has started eight games and has a record of 3-4-0-1. While the record is not great, he is only giving up 2.43 goals per game. Quick has a record of 5-2-2- in nine starts and is giving up 2.82 goals per game.

St. Louis Blues Betting Preview: Find a way to get healthy.

The St. Louis Blues injury report is filled with seven players, who only one of them has any potential of playing at all this week. When you look at the names as well, these are some of the most skilled offensive players the Blues have, Robert Thomas, Jaden Schwartz, and Vladimir Tarasenko.

Besides injury issues, the Blues have also been dealing with COVID scheduling issues, at one point they had to play seven games in a row against Phoenix, they just have not looked comfortable on the ice.

One player for the Blues has stood out so far, Jordan Kyrou, and in his first full time season with the big club, Kyrou has impressed everyone. In nineteen games he has seven goals and ten assists, putting him in second on the team in points to David Perron.

In goal for the Blues is the third year goalie, Jordan Binnington. After coming on to scene in 2018, and leading the Blues to a Stanley Cup final, it seemed like a lot of the talk was if Binnington was really that good or was it just a fluke. This season he has been getting back into the groove and has a record of 5-3-0-1 and is only giving up 2.5 goals per game.
